Product description

Lucia Ronchetti's "Action Music Pieces" is a captivating collection of contemporary classical works that blend innovative composition with profound literary and philosophical influences. Released on September 1, 2018, under the Kairos label, this album spans a rich 75 minutes of music, showcasing Ronchetti's unique ability to weave together diverse artistic inspirations.

Born in Rome in 1963, Lucia Ronchetti studied Composition and Computer Music at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia and Philosophy at the University of Rome. Her academic background shines through in the depth and complexity of her compositions. The album features a range of pieces, each with its own distinct character and narrative. "Le Palais Du Silence" (2013) is a drammaturgia inspired by Claude Debussy, performed by the renowned Ensemble Intercontemporain. "Helicopters and Butterflies" (2012) is a solo for an operatic percussionist, drawing from Fyodor Dostoevsky's "The Gambler." "Forward and Downward, Turning Neither to the Left nor to the Right" (2017) is a solo cello piece arranged by Michele Marco Rossi, influenced by Plutarch and Károly Kerényi. "Lacus Timoris" (2015) is a solo timpani drammaturgia, and "Rumori da Monumenti" (2015) is a study of Johannesburg, featuring recorded voice and chamber orchestra, with text by Ivan Vladislavic based on fragments from "Portrait with Keys."

This album is a testament to Ronchetti's childlike enchantment with music, drawing on the theatrical and imaginative power of musical instruments. Each piece is a journey in itself, inviting the audience to explore the depths of contemporary classical music. The performances by the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Orchestra della Toscana, and soloists Christian Dierstein and Michele Marco Rossi, under the direction of Matthias Pintscher, bring Ronchetti's vision to life with precision and passion. "Action Music Pieces" is a must-listen for those interested in the intersection of music, literature, and philosophy.
