Fantastic album! The vinyl has a few tiny crackles scattered throughout, but that's the charm of vinyl records. It gives the music a lively feel!
Come on, K-Scope, give us more volume! An extra few decibels won't make the needle skip! Just give any OT Madfish/Dovetail pressing a spin right after, without touching the volume knob, and the contrast will be crystal clear. Losing one star solely because of this.
Has anyone found a crackle-free version of this album? I'm on the verge of returning my second copy for an exchange. Fantastic music, but the quality control is a letdown.
First time listening to Ozric Tentacles and what a blast! I was hooked, hit play again right away (which I rarely do) and straight away went to order two more of their records.
I purchased this particular issue at a premium due to the unfavorable feedback surrounding the black vinyl pressings. This version isn't terrible, the audio quality is quite good, although it does have a noticeable crackle during the quiet sections. Additionally, it's slightly warped, which really shouldn't have slipped past quality control without being labeled as B-grade. Considering that and the previous issues with the black vinyl, this will be my final Kscope record purchase for now. As for the music, it's what I'd expect from their 90s CDs, not exactly groundbreaking, just some laid-back tunes with a fair amount of bass.
