This vinyl is simply FANTASTIC. Not a single surface noise or click to be heard, the dynamics and soundstage are incredible, no harsh sibilance in the audio, it's a solidly weighted record, comes with immaculate packaging and even a download card, the only tiny issue is that the center hole is a smidge too small but it doesn't impact the record's play at all. It's a 11/10 release for me. I'm baffled as to why it's averaging 4.5/5, it should at least be 4.7 or even 4.8.
I'm more drawn to this earlier phase of Flying Lotus's work, when he was crafting experimental hip-hop beats, before he ventured into neo free-jazz territory. This album is a modern masterpiece in electronic music, a must-listen. I'd strongly suggest picking up this pressing; mine is incredibly quiet, even though the music sometimes includes clicks and pops as part of the sound and sample collage for that vintage vinyl effect, which is easily distinguishable from actual vinyl noise.
2008's finest album, hands down. Nothing else to add!
On my version of this album, the last song is "Secrets (Soundmurderer Refix)" rather than "Auntie's Lock/Infinitum". Has anyone got the same thing on theirs?
I've got a version of this without a sticker on the cover, but it does have the download card inside. Can someone please let me know if the original release came with the mp3 download? Thanks a bunch!
