For any Milt Jackson enthusiast, this album is an essential addition to your collection. However, you might want to skip this particular pressing. The performance is absolutely captivating and the atmosphere is utterly engaging. James Moody's flute work is some of the most exquisite I've ever encountered. Tracks like "The Quota", "Turquoise", "Simplicity & Beauty" and "Flying Saucer" truly shine. It's a mid-70s Trip Jazz budget label release, and the sound quality is... adequate. It's in stereo, and you can make out the piano, bass, drums, vibes, and flute, but I highly doubt it's sourced from a master tape or anything close to it. But for just four dollars, it's a fair deal. My copy plays smoothly and quietly, no surface noise to speak of.

For any Milt Jackson enthusiast, this album is a must-own. However, you might want to skip this particular pressing. The performance is truly inspiring and the atmosphere is utterly captivating. James Moody's flute work is simply exquisite, some of the best I've ever heard. Tracks like "The Quota", "Turquoise", "Simplicity & Beauty", and "Flying Saucer" really shine. It's a mid-70s Trip Jazz budget label release, and the sound quality is... adequate. It's in stereo, you can hear the piano, bass, drums, vibes, and flute clearly enough... but I highly doubt it's sourced from a master tape or anything close to it. Still, for just four dollars, it's a fair deal. My copy plays smoothly, no noticeable surface noise here.
