  • Superb Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    hmxunvSeptember 10, 2025United States🇺🇸

Fantastic quality - it's loud, crisp, and has no static, with awesome bass. I'm super pleased with it.

  • Quiet, Low Volume Classic

    4 out of 5 stars
    TasekubDojgatAugust 2, 2025United States🇺🇸

EXTREMELY good quality pressing. The vinyl is super quiet (no pops or hiss) but oddly, the volume is pretty low...But all in all, a great reissue of this classic, timeless true hiphop album

  • Scratched Sound Quality

    3 out of 5 stars
    FGeekisifMay 18, 2025United States🇺🇸

The sound quality of the actual recordings is fantastic, but it's completely spoiled by awful scratches from the manufacturer. The bass hits hard, the drums are sharp, and the vocals are crystal clear. However, there's noticeable noise from scratches on every side. Buying from Get On Down is a gamble, and in this case, I lost. My initial copy also came with two disc 2's. I contacted Get On Down, and they sent me disc 1 really fast. But it arrived even more damaged than the other two discs. I probably won't be playing this record much, if at all.

  • Reissue Quality, Missing Extras

    5 out of 5 stars
    VL248February 1, 2025United States🇺🇸

The reissue I received is absolutely flawless, with no excessive noise and not mastered at a low volume. But it didn't come with the Hype sticker or the poster. Is there another version out there?

  • Quiet Vinyl, Poor Pressing

    3 out of 5 stars
    Gucpav_KukApril 4, 2024United States🇺🇸

The mastering has alright dynamics but it's a bit quiet, so turn up the volume. The vinyl pressing isn't great, there's plenty of marks and stuff.

About Dead Prez

Dead Prez, the influential hip hop duo hailing from New York City, emerged in the late 1990s with a mission to ignite social consciousness and inspire change. Comprised of M-1 and stic.man, the duo is renowned for their confrontational style and unapologetic lyrics that delve into themes of social justice, self-determination, and Pan-Africanism. Their debut album, "Let's Get Free," released in 2000, is a landmark in politically charged hip hop, blending sharp lyricism with bold themes of empowerment. Inspired by revolutionary figures like Malcolm X and the groundbreaking hip hop group Public Enemy, Dead Prez delivers a powerful message that resonates with fans of east coast and hardcore hip hop. Their commitment to ethical principles extends to their stance against corporate control over media and hip hop record labels, making their music not just an album, but a statement of resistance and empowerment.
