Does the color vary between the European and American yellow vinyl releases? Judging by the pictures, the US version seems to have a more orange hue.
I gotta say, EVERY single one of my Shakira vinyl records (LS, OF1, FO2, SW) sound TERRIBLE, whoever handled the mastering for her vinyl albums really messed up. With this particular pressing, I've noticed the following. Side A sounds all muffled and squished, Side B, on the other hand, is decent. The packaging is cool, the color is stunning, the disc feels flimsy, the audio quality is great, but the mastering is really bad, they should've made it a gate-fold.
Given how crucial this album is to Shakira’s discography, you’d expect a better quality pressing. But it’s almost laughable, each side of my copy has its own issues. Side A is filled with crackles and hisses, Side B throws in some skips for fun. Side C’s label is lopsided, and Side D has scratches on the final track. Far from satisfied with this pressing’s condition, particularly the first record, but I suppose it’s in my collection now…
The sound quality of this vinyl isn't the absolute best, but there's hardly any noise on mine. When I stack it up against other vinyl reissues I've got, this one's pretty decent. If you're as big a fan of this album as I am, I'd say go for it. (That is, if your copy's as clean as mine is.)Music: 10/10Pressing: 7.5/10
I'm really digging the new design more than the regular one, but it'd be even better if they added the lyrics. The look is fantastic, but I'm kinda bummed they went with Ojos Así instead of the Whenever, Wherever (Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show Remix). At least they could've used the single version, but nope.
