This is an awesome album, I think it might be his first one? I could be wrong, but either way, it's fantastic. The music sounds incredible and features some amazing musicians, like Jaco. It's not my top pick from Al, but it's definitely up there.
Absolutely brilliant album. Picked up my VG+ copy last year for just £1 at a little antique stall in a mall in West Berkshire; figured why not give it a shot for a quid - honestly, one of my finest finds and I'm really happy with it. Some folks have said Al plays too fast, but it all sounds fantastic to me. Some lovely Latin influences and amazing guitar solos. Being a bass player, I also really dig the various bass skills on display. Plus some great keyboard and drum moments. Not a single weak track or filler in sight. Now just hunting down some follow-up albums to add to my collection.
For those new to his music, this album's a fantastic introduction. Al's an incredible, often overlooked guitar legend.
When this dropped, he was around 21 or 22, but check out that back cover pic—he looks like he's 35!
This record sounds fantastic! I'm assuming it was mastered by Rob Ludwig as there's a RL mark on it.
