Absolutely amazing album. The vinyl quality is superb. It's my first time purchasing a Sony Classical vinyl record, and I'm thrilled. Each piece is gorgeous. What a delight to have this on vinyl to appreciate.
The performance and recording are absolutely superb. The selection of pieces is quite intriguing. The sleeve and LP label design are a monochrome joy. In my view, Ms. Buniatishvili's personal and metaphorical commentary on the works enhances the performance. (At a concert, you could picture the words being spoken between each piece, or displayed on a screen while the music plays.) The pressing is exceptionally clear, and the LPs are perfectly flat. This is my first Sony LP purchase, and I sincerely hope they maintain this quality. However, LP collectors should be aware that you'll notice every imperfection on the disks, which (as expected) accumulates over time. (I've listened to the LPs only five times, but have already found it necessary to clean the disks twice.) The dynamics are impressive, but some parts of the selection are performed at a low volume, making any crackle more audible. The LPs come with a Low-Res download (which is definitely worth having). Still, you might be better off skipping the LPs and just buying the CD or a High-Res download.
Absolutely gorgeous release - truly digging how this one came out!
Upon my initial purchase, I noticed a clear audio issue. When I got the second one, there were numerous pops and crackles on a brand new disc, and it's quite noisy overall.
