This album offers a delightful collection of easy-listening jazz tunes, featuring punchy brass sections, synth bass, subdued rhythm guitar (courtesy of Jay Graydon), and velvety vocals from a genuine virtuoso. Standout tracks include "Save Me", "Step By Step", and "Mornin'". The mixing and mastering are top-notch, showcasing the exemplary music production of the early '80s. The vocals sound incredibly powerful. Plus, you'll find some of the finest Rhodes piano performances ever recorded. 3.5 stars.

  • Thrift Store Vinyl Gem

Another thrift store find! Just $3, what a steal. It's in flawless condition, both the sleeve and the vinyl. Al's music is such a great mood booster. I'm not the biggest enthusiast of 80s soul/jazz-funk, as it usually includes synthesizers, but there's so much musically happening on this album that I can look past that. Al's voice is incredibly smooth. All in all, $3 was a fantastic deal.
