About Mark Turner

Mark Turner is an acclaimed American jazz saxophonist, born on November 10, 1965, in Fairborn, Ohio. With a career spanning over four decades, Turner has established himself as a towering figure in the jazz community, known for his harmonically rich and inventive approach to modern creative jazz. His meticulous playing style has earned him widespread acclaim and a dedicated following. Turner's quartet, featuring Jason Palmer on trumpet, Joe Martin on double bass, and Jonathan Pinson on drums, has been touring in support of their latest album. In 2025, Turner released his first solo saxophone album, "We Raise Them To Lift Their Heads," marking another milestone in his stellar career.
