Product description

"Indian Winter" is a captivating exploration of avant-garde jazz, masterfully crafted by the renowned pianist Ran Blake, with the collaboration of David Fabris. Released on December 30, 2005, under the Soul Note label, this album spans a rich 23-track journey, clocking in at just under an hour and ten minutes. The genres of free jazz, vocal jazz, and avant-garde jazz blend seamlessly, offering a unique and immersive listening experience.

The album opens with "Spiral Staircase," setting the tone for a collection that is as eclectic as it is engaging. Tracks like "You've Changed" and "Duality" showcase Blake's signature style, characterized by its innovative approach and deep emotional resonance. The inclusion of pieces like "Streetcar Named Desire" and "Homage To Alfred Hitchcock" hints at Blake's cinematic influences, much like the filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, whom Blake admires for his use of odd angles to shape the audience's view.

The collaboration with David Fabris adds a dynamic layer to the album, enhancing the overall listening experience.
