  • Ears' Trippy Treat

Give your ears a treat and dive into Tristano, that extended, almost trippy climax.

  • Jazzy Trio's Creative Exploration

    3 out of 5 stars
    kwaabbxuyNovember 16, 2024United States🇺🇸

As highlighted in the liner notes, IN THE FISHTANK “provides a platform for creativity and exploration.” And staying true to that vision, this EP showcases extended jazzy improvisations from the Motorpsycho trio, with support from the brass section of Jaga Jazzist. “Bombay Brassiere” sparkles and glows, the horns bringing a unique radiance. “Pills, Powders and Passion Plays” is far more reflective, with “sensitive guy” lyrics. The rock-inspired “Theme de Yoyo” takes its lyrics much less seriously, and is amusing in a peculiar way (with moments of musical mayhem). The closing track, “Tristano,” meanders along at its own pace, and you can either join it or not. The main thing is that you’ve been given an invitation.
