This album is flawless, enhanced by a fantastic quality pressing. Not much more to add.
The vinyl copy I have of this release is quite flat with a bit of surface noise and the odd light pop (it's not been cleaned). The sound stage is spacious with excellent separation. The guitars, vocals, and horns all sound wonderfully natural, though some of the mid and high frequency details are lost compared to the reissue. The overall sound is warm. It's an amazing album, and this release is a must-have for any archive first pressing collection. (Rega Planar 3, Exact 2 cart, PSE Studio SL, Linn LK85, Linn interconnects, Linn Katans)
Honestly, I can't figure out why, but I spotted this album and had never come across it previously. After one spin, I was completely captivated. I'm absolutely loving it! It's definitely top 10 material for me. I couldn't resist grabbing the box set, I was that smitten. Fantastic tunes!
Definitely my top pick for an album. Beautiful copy; nothing to fault. The final line of the main song always strikes a chord…”can’t get over how peculiar it is to exist at all” ❤️
Audio quality is fantastic on my setup (AT-LP120 + Audio-Technica speakers)... minor wobble on side B... top-notch pressing... budget-friendly yet pleasant (nothing nasty here)
