About Robert Rearden

Robert Rearden is a distinguished horn player who currently serves as a member of the National Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2016. Prior to joining the NSO, he was the principal horn of the Florida Orchestra for six years and also served in the same capacity with the New World Symphony. Robert's musical journey began with a Bachelor of Music degree in horn performance, which he earned from the University of South Carolina. He further honed his skills at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Beyond his orchestral commitments, Robert is deeply involved in education, serving on the horn faculty and as the brass coordinator at the Peabody Institute. His passion for music extends to the neoclassical genre, where he has made a notable impact. With his extensive experience and dedication to the art, Robert Rearden continues to captivate audiences and inspire the next generation of musicians.
