Product description

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of classical music with the Orchestre De La Société Des Concerts Du Conservatoire's captivating album, released on January 1, 2011, under the Decca Music Group Ltd. label. This exquisite collection blends the operatic and classical genres, offering a rich and diverse listening experience that spans a little over an hour.

The album opens with Jacques Ibert's "Divertissement," a delightful suite that takes you on a journey through various moods and tempos, from the lively "Cortège" to the dreamy "Nocturne," and culminating in the energetic "Finale." The Orchestre De La Société Des Concerts Du Conservatoire brings these pieces to life with their impeccable precision and expressive playing.

Following this, you'll find Georges Bizet's "Jeux d'enfants," a charming suite that captures the innocence and playfulness of childhood. The orchestra's nuanced performance brings out the whimsical nature of each movement, from the marching "Trompette et tambour" to the tender "Berceuse: La Poupée."

The album concludes with Camille Saint-Saëns' "Symphony No. 2 in B Minor," a powerful and dramatic work that showcases the full range of the orchestra's capabilities. The symphony's four movements, from the bold "Allegro" to the triumphant "Finale," demonstrate the orchestra's technical prowess and emotional depth.

Throughout the album, the Orchestre De La Société Des Concerts Du Conservatoire's rich history and reputation for excellence shine through. Founded in 1828, the orchestra has been a cornerstone of French musical life, performing under the baton of some of the most celebrated conductors and collaborating with legendary soloists. Their commitment to musical excellence is evident in every note of this remarkable album.
