Product description

In 1999, Scottish guitar virtuoso Martin Taylor joined forces with mandolin maven David Grisman to create an enchanting acoustic jazz experience titled "I'm Beginning To See The Light." This captivating collaboration brings together a quartet of extraordinary musicians, including bassist Jim Kerwin and drummer George Marsh, to deliver a swinging, sophisticated collection of jazz standards.

The album, released under the Acoustic Disc label, seamlessly blends French jazz and newgrass genres, resulting in a unique and refreshing sound that spans a little under an hour. With tracks like "Autumn Leaves," "Cheek To Cheek," and "Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered," Taylor and Grisman pay homage to the rich history of jazz while infusing their own distinctive styles. Taylor's virtuosic guitar work and Grisman's masterful mandolin playing intertwine beautifully, creating a dynamic and engaging listening experience.

"I'm Beginning To See The Light" is a testament to the timeless appeal of jazz standards, reimagined through the lens of these two acclaimed musicians. The album's 12 tracks offer a delightful journey through classic tunes, each one showcasing the quartet's impeccable musicianship and chemistry. Whether you're a longtime jazz enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
