About Dick Hyman

Dick Hyman, born in 1927, is a legendary American jazz pianist and composer whose illustrious career spans over seven decades. With a repertoire that includes ragtime and exotica, Hyman's versatility is evident in his roles as a pianist, organist, arranger, and music director. He has released over 100 albums and played on countless sessions, showcasing his mastery of various styles from classic jazz to stride and pre-bop swing. Hyman's work with Enoch Light's Command label further highlights his eclectic talents, featuring light classical, swinging harpsichord, funky organ, and "now sound" combo albums. His performances, such as those with his Classic Jazz Band at the 1982 Nice Jazz Festival, have left an indelible mark on the jazz world. Hyman's extensive musical journey, beginning in the 1950s, continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.
