Product description

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Hans Huber's orchestral masterpieces with the album "Huber: Symphonies Nos. 1 & 7." Released on April 25, 2006, under the Sterling Records label, this album showcases two of Huber's most notable symphonies, performed by the renowned Stuttgarter Philharmoniker and conducted by Jörg-Peter Weigle.

The album opens with Symphony No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 63, a four-movement work that exemplifies Huber's ability to blend romanticism with a distinctly personal touch. The first movement, "Allegro ma non troppo," sets the stage with its dramatic intensity, followed by the soothing "Adagio ma non troppo." The third movement, "Allegretto - Im langsamen Hochzeitmarschtempo," brings a touch of elegance and grace, while the final movement, "Andante - Allegro con fuoco," concludes the symphony with a powerful and energetic crescendo.

The second half of the album features Symphony No. 7 in D Minor, "Schweizerische," a work inspired by Huber's Swiss heritage. This symphony is divided into four movements, each evoking vivid imagery of the Swiss landscape and culture. "Auf den Bergen" (On the Mountains) begins with a sense of grandeur, "Ländlicher Hochzeitzug" (Rustic Wedding Procession) brings a lively and festive atmosphere, "Abendstimmung in den Bergen" (Evening Mood in the Mountains) offers a serene and reflective interlude, and the "Finale" concludes the symphony with a triumphant and exhilarating finish.

With a total duration of 1 hour and 10 minutes, this album is a testament to Hans Huber's compositional prowess and the exceptional skill of the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, "Huber: Symphonies Nos. 1 & 7" offers a rich and rewarding listening experience that highlights the beauty and diversity of Huber's musical legacy.
