With over 40 albums to his name and a career spanning more than five decades, he has performed on prestigious stages worldwide and collaborated with jazz legends like Oscar Peterson and Jaki Byard. Blake's innovative approach to music is evident in his dramatic solo performances and his groundbreaking 1962 album with Jeanne Lee, "The Newest Sound Around." Beyond his musical achievements, Blake has dedicated over 40 years to teaching jazz at the New England Conservatory, inspiring generations of musicians.
