About Movses Pogossian

Movses Pogossian is a distinguished Armenian-born violinist who has captivated audiences worldwide with his avant-garde performances. He made his American debut in 1990 with the Boston Pops, performing Tchaikovsky's Concerto. Currently, Pogossian serves as the Distinguished Professor of Violin at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and is the Founding Director and Advisor of the UCLA Armenian Music Program. His dedication to his heritage is evident in his role as the Artistic Director of the critically acclaimed Dilijan Chamber Music Series in Los Angeles. Beyond his performances, Pogossian is also a passionate advocate for music education and community engagement, co-directing the Los Angeles Chapter of Music for Food. His deep connection to his roots is reflected in his personal projects, including recordings made in Armenia, where he spent the first 20 years of his life. Pogossian's work is a testament to his artistic brilliance and his commitment to cultural preservation and education.
