Terrible color application on a translucent vinyl that doesn't look appealing but sounds fantastic
The sound quality of this pressing is fantastic, but the color job isn't that impressive.
I dozed off to this album, and surprisingly, that's not a bad thing. I checked out the ChopNotSlop version, and just like DJ Surrup did with Tame Impala's recent release, he manages to transform indie pop into something ethereal. The whole album is a letter to an ex, but it's not done in the typical way most pop songs approach this topic. The instrumentals are innovative, and the lyrics are delivered in stanzas that are half-sung and half-rapped, better than anything a generic rapper lacking confidence in their own voice can do these days. "Hey U X" has great replay value, and the short tracklist is perfect for satisfying that craving. The only downside is Flo Milli on "Plain", which reminds me of Angel Haze on Skylar Grey's "Sh!t Man". As a rapper myself, some genre-blending tracks are better off without half-hearted rappers, and sound better with singers trying their hand at something they're not experts in. No need to fake the funk.
