Product description

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of classical music with "Henryk Szeryng: Dvorak & Brahms" by Rafael Kubelík. This 2016 release on the Orfeo label is a testament to the enduring brilliance of these composers, featuring the acclaimed violinist Henryk Szeryng and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the renowned conductor Rafael Kubelík.

The album opens with Antonín Dvořák's powerful "Hussite Overture, Op. 67, B. 132," a stirring piece that sets the stage for the rest of the performance. The centerpiece of the album is Dvořák's "Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77," performed live by Szeryng. This concerto is a showcase of Szeryng's virtuosity, with its three movements—"I. Allegro non troppo," "II. Adagio," and "III. Allegro giocoso, ma non troppo vivace"—each offering a unique blend of technical prowess and emotional depth.

With a total runtime of 52 minutes, this album is a concise yet comprehensive exploration of these classical masterpieces. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer looking to explore the genre, "Henryk Szeryng: Dvorak & Brahms" offers a rich and rewarding listening experience. The combination of Szeryng's masterful playing, Kubelík's insightful conducting, and the superb playing of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra makes this album a standout in the classical music canon.
