Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music with Wolfgang Schneiderhan's "Greatest Concerto Moments." Released in 2008 under the Big Eye label, this extraordinary album spans a staggering 4 hours and 27 minutes, featuring a meticulously curated selection of violin concertos and solo works that showcase Schneiderhan's unparalleled virtuosity and artistry.

The album is a comprehensive journey through the masterpieces of the violin repertoire, featuring works by composers such as Brahms, Mendelssohn, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bruch. Each track is a testament to Schneiderhan's profound musicality and technical brilliance, from the intense and dramatic passages of Brahms' Violin Concerto in D minor to the lyrical and expressive Adagio of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major.

Schneiderhan's interpretation of Bach's works, including the intricate and contemplative Ciaccona from the Partita No. 2 in D minor, is particularly noteworthy. His ability to bring out the depth and complexity of these compositions is a highlight of the album. Additionally, the inclusion of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major and No. 4 in D Major, with Schneiderhan's own cadenzas, adds a personal touch to these beloved classics.

Recorded live in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, the album captures the essence of a live performance, offering an intimate and authentic listening experience. Schneiderhan's collaboration with the Festival Strings and other esteemed musicians enhances the richness and depth of the sound, making this album a true celebration of classical music.

Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, "Greatest Concerto Moments" is a must-listen. It is a testament to Wolfgang Schneiderhan's enduring legacy as one of the greatest violinists of our time.
