The album sounds amazing, but I had to send back the first one I got because it was bent. The music on it is awesome!
This pressing is a real letdown. The surface noise is just out of control, even after I gave it three wet cleanings. The mastering is just not up to par. The bass is way too overpowering, and trust me, I love bass! It's so overdone that it's actually getting in the way of enjoying the music. I turned down the bass, but then I noticed that the mids and highs are way too low. The cover, inner sleeve, and booklet look great, though. The music is fantastic, but I'll stick with the digital version. I'm sending this back to Amazon.
I grabbed this album 'cause I'm a fan of Leon Bridges and his growth as an artist. I'd heard a lot about it being a subpar pressing, so I was on the fence about buying it. But honestly, I find the record to be pretty quiet. It's on par with most records you'd find on the shelf. If MOFI or Analogue Productions could get their hands on it, it'd be incredible! I really hope they pick up "Comin' Home" next. Now that's a record that's poorly pressed.
Sadly, this record is quite poor. There's a lot of surface noise on both sides and a strong hiss from one channel. It looks great with the gold cover but I wouldn't suggest getting this version.
