The vinyl I have has a few small pops and clicks during the softer sections, so it's not entirely silent (like the recent Tone Poets, for instance). I'm not sure if it's worth trying another copy. My scale says the vinyl weighs 120g. Where is this series pressed at?
Does anyone happen to know if these are AAA? I'm not sure they are, but I've ordered a copy anyways.
All in all, it's quite good, but not flawless because of certain background noises and ticks. Given that it's part of the high-end Luminessence series and comes with a hefty price tag, the audio quality could definitely be improved.
Audio quality is fantastic: spacious, rich in bass, and generally 'warm'. It's just a pleasure to listen to! The vinyl was extremely dirty - full of paper dust, hairs, and whatnot. Even after three rounds with the vacuum, there's still some noise, particularly in quiet parts, but I can live with it. All in all, I'm pleased with the record. Though, I feel the price is a bit steep compared to single-disc Tone Poets, which offer better pressings for nearly the same cost.
I'm right there with the others on this one. The paper dust is a bit odd, and it's strange that there's no mention of the series on the product itself...but the sound quality is fantastic, and I'm really pleased. I have a feeling I'm going to love collecting this series.
