Product description

Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, the young and dynamic conductor, presents a captivating collection of orchestral works by three prominent Russian composers: Glinka, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Borodin. Released on May 7, 2021, under the Tonkunstler Orchestra label, this album is a testament to Tjeknavorian's exceptional musicality and the Tonkünstler-Orchester's virtuosity.

The album features six tracks, each a masterpiece in its own right. It opens with Glinka's "Ruslan and Lyudmila: Ouvertüre," a stirring overture that sets the stage for the rest of the album. The centerpiece is Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade," a four-movement orchestral suite that brings to life the tales of One Thousand and One Nights. Each movement is a vivid musical painting, from the vast and mysterious "The Sea and Sinbad's Ship" to the lively and colorful "Festival at Baghdad. The Sea." The album concludes with Borodin's "Prince Igor: Polowetzer Tänze," a thrilling and rhythmic dance that leaves the audience breathless.

With a duration of just over an hour, this album is a perfect introduction to the rich and diverse world of Russian classical music. Tjeknavorian's conducting is precise and expressive, bringing out the best in the Tonkünstler-Orchester. The sound quality is excellent, allowing the listener to fully appreciate the intricate details of each piece.

Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album is sure to impress. It's a journey through time and space, from the ancient tales of Scheherazade to the exotic dances of Prince Igor. So sit back, relax, and let Emmanuel Tjeknavorian and the Tonkünstler-Orchester transport you to a world of sound and imagination.
