Product description

Gerald Resch's "Collection Serti et Al." is a captivating journey through the contemporary classical music landscape, released on October 1, 2012, under the KAIROS label. This album showcases the impressive versatility and innovative spirit of Gerald Resch, a composer whose work is deeply rooted in the traditions of 20th-century New Music. With a runtime of 56 minutes, the album features six tracks, each a testament to Resch's ability to blend plastic forms with conventional structures, creating a unique and engaging listening experience.

The album opens with "Collection Serti (2011) for Ensemble," performed by the renowned Klangforum Wien, followed by "Figuren (2009) for Clarinet," featuring Clement Power. The ensemble work "Ein Garten. Pfade, die sich verzweigen (2000) for viola and seven Instruments" showcases the talents of Stefan Neubauer and Gertrude Rossbacher. The final three tracks are part of the "Cantus Firmus (2010) for orchestra and mixed choir ad Libitum" suite, performed by the Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich, Chorus Sine Nomine, and conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada. Each piece is a masterclass in composition, demonstrating Resch's ability to separate texts or characters clearly, even within the most complex musical forms.

Recorded in Graz in October 2011 and released in 2012, this album is a collaboration with some of the most respected names in contemporary classical music. It's a must-listen for anyone interested in the evolution of modern composition and the boundary-pushing work of Gerald Resch.
