I'm a huge fan of this album, at least for the first half, and it's awesome to have a physical copy, but the audio quality isn't quite up to par. My copy has a lot of surface noise even after a good cleaning, and the mastering is a bit low in volume, which doesn't help. I think they might've compressed the tracks too much to fit all TWENTY songs on just 2 discs. My main issue with Future is his lack of quality control, and it's really noticeable here. There are way too many tracks on this album, especially considering how much other stuff he's put out around the same time and since then. If they wanted to add three bonus tracks to the original 17, they should've put them on an extra 12" instead. I bet the sound quality would be way better with one less track on each side. I wouldn't have minded the 3 bonus tracks if they'd just replaced some of the weaker, filler tracks (like Scrape, and maybe the last two? I'm not a fan of the production on When I Was Broke and Feds Did a Sweep). Future is at his best musically here, but I wish he'd focused that into a tighter, hotter tracklist. The sound quality takes a hit with 20 tracks on 2 discs, but it's still a must-have for me.
Future did a great job here. It's not an easy album to find. Really let down by the sound quality though. It's quite low and has a strange, bad tone. It's alright overall, but it could use a richer sound.
Gotta say, I'm on the same page as the other folks who commented before me. Happy to have it in my hands, but the sound ain't as great as it should be. I've got "The WIZRD" too, and that one sounds FANTASTIC, so I figured this'd be just as good, but nah.
Could be even better than DS2, definitely not a disappointment, and a bit of everything from his styles. 🤌🏽
