I'm truly let down by this vinyl, especially since the music is fantastic, which makes this even more upsetting. I can't in good conscience recommend purchasing it, particularly the black vinyl, as it's incredibly noisy, making it impossible to appreciate the richness of this brilliantly crafted soundtrack. I'm sorry, Mondo, but what worked for The Last Of Us just didn't translate here, and it's heartbreaking. Once again, I've learned that looks aren't everything and certainly don't guarantee quality... sadly.
amazing music score stunning and touching it's a perfect match for a biopic about national hero Neil Armstrong ...it will literaly transport you to outer space.
Does the black version have improved pressing quality compared to the often criticized lunar grey, or is it just another hit-or-miss situation?
The positives; Awesome tunes! Awesome album artwork! The vinyl record itself looks really neat - as someone else mentioned - see-through with grey swirls (sort of a "mother of pearl" vibe). The negatives; Lots of pops and crackles. Way too much surface noise to be considered a quality pressing. Not knowing how many records were made doesn't make me feel any better. The weight feels cheap - not like 180g. Buying more than one doesn't increase your odds of getting a signed copy. Personal thoughts; I instantly fell in love with the soundtrack when I watched the movie in theaters. Listening to the music brings me right back to the same mindset as when I was sitting in front of the screen - fully immersed in the story. However, as a European customer - after paying top dollar for shipping and taxes - I feel ripped off every time I look at the record. "The negatives" outweigh "The positives" and is too much of a letdown to give me the joy I anticipated when placing my order. I expected to play the vinyl more than once, but I keep choosing to stream the album instead....
I'm truly let down by this vinyl, and it's a real shame because the music is fantastic. I wouldn't suggest buying it, especially the black version, as it's so full of static that you can't even appreciate the richness of this brilliantly crafted soundtrack. I'm sorry, Mondo, but what worked for The Last Of Us just didn't cut it here, and it's heartbreaking. Once again, I've learned that looks aren't everything and certainly don't guarantee quality... sadly.
