This sextet's first album is an outstanding introduction to their work. It's a refreshing take on modern Jazz that's easy to appreciate. You can tell these are skilled musicians at the top of their game. The sound is rich and impactful, with a well-crafted stage presence. You'll hear echoes of legendary artists like Coltrane throughout. It definitely leaves you eager for their next project. The Optimal pressing is flat, perfectly centered, and quiet. ECM has done it again with another must-have release that's not to be overlooked.
