Patricia Kopatchinskaja, the renowned violinist, presents her latest album "Exile," a captivating exploration of works by composers who were forced to flee their homelands. Released on January 24, 2025, under the Alpha Classics label, this chamber music album spans 13 tracks and a total duration of 1 hour and 14 minutes.
"Exile" features a diverse range of compositions, including arrangements by Jonathan Keren, Martin Merker, and Patricia Kopatchinskaja herself. The album opens with "Kugikly for Violin and Ukrainian and Russian Panpipes," setting the stage for a journey through pieces that reflect the experiences of displacement and cultural fusion. Notable works include the Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 1, arranged for cello, strings, and harpsichord, and the Concerto for Violin and Strings, showcasing Kopatchinskaja's virtuosic talent.
