Product description

Dive into the captivating world of Glenn Spearman's "Eneidi: American Jungle Suite," a mesmerizing fusion of free jazz, hard bop, avant-garde, and chamber music. Released on April 1, 2011, under the Music and Arts Programs of America label, this album is a testament to Spearman's innovative spirit and his ability to blend diverse musical genres into a cohesive and compelling whole.

The album is a six-part suite, each track a distinct yet interconnected journey. From the evocative "Hymn of Creation" to the haunting "Trail of Tears," the suite explores themes of history, culture, and identity. "Ghost Dance" and "Naked Mirror" showcase Spearman's virtuosity and his collaborators' ability to push musical boundaries. The "Interlude" provides a moment of reflection, while "Student Studies" brings the suite to a close with a sense of resolution and growth.

Spearman's collaboration with the Creative Music Orchestra and notable figures like Cecil Taylor and Marco Eneidi adds depth and richness to the album. Recorded in 1995 and released in 1997, the suite was performed live in Prague in 2011, further cementing its place in the annals of contemporary jazz.

With a duration of 1 hour and 9 minutes, "Eneidi: American Jungle Suite" is not just an album but an experience. It's a journey through the American landscape, both physical and metaphorical, and a celebration of the rich tapestry of musical traditions that have shaped our cultural heritage. Whether you're a seasoned jazz aficionado or a curious newcomer, this album promises to engage, challenge, and inspire.
