Among McGriff's finest works, this September '69 recording is brimming with slick grooves and sultry soul jazz. "Chris Cross", "The Bird Wave", "Funky Junk", and both parts of "Spear For Moondog" truly shine, but ELECTRIC FUNK delivers top-notch tracks throughout, thanks to Horace Ott's composition of over half the songs and his lively arrangements. This pressing is excellent, boasting a rich, full sound, with horns that pack a punch, a superb organ, and crisp, clear drums and guitar. My copy is in great condition, with only a hint of surface noise.

A FROZEN ASSASSIN FROM BEGINNING TO END, in my view, it's one of the top 3 Jazz-Funk albums ever crafted (alongside Reuben Wilson's - The Sweet Life and Donald Byrd's - Street Lady, just saying).And this pressing is OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!I'm lost for words to depict this Masterpiece...
