Product description

Edu Lobo's "Edu Canta Zumbi," released on August 3, 1968, is a captivating journey through the rich tapestry of Brazilian music, blending the sultry rhythms of bossa nova with the vibrant energy of Brazilian jazz and MPB. This album, one of Edu Lobo's rarest and most cherished works from the 1960s, is a testament to his artistic prowess and innovative spirit.

With a runtime of just under 38 minutes, the album features 12 tracks that weave a tapestry of haunting vocals and lush arrangements. Standout tracks like "Zâmbi No Açoite," "É O Banzo, Irmão," and "Canção Das Dádivas Da Natureza" showcase Lobo's ability to infuse traditional Brazilian elements with a modern, sophisticated touch. The album's dramatic and moody undertones set it apart, making it a standout piece in the bossa nova genre.

Originally released on the Elenco label, "Edu Canta Zumbi" has been praised for its soaring mix of rootsy and ambitious elements. The album's deep, haunting vocals and intricate arrangements create a listening experience that is both intimate and expansive. Whether you're a longtime fan of Brazilian music or a newcomer looking to explore the genre, this album offers a rich and rewarding exploration of Edu Lobo's unique artistic vision.

This 2024 Reissue LP is housed in a gatefold.
