Nothing much left to say that hasn't been mentioned. Excellent pressing and production.
I just gave my copy a spin and it sounded fantastic. There were a couple of pops at the start of the first tracks, but it's been really reliable since then. I was surprised by how negatively some people were talking about it, but I guess it's better than I expected. I'd definitely suggest getting this on vinyl, as I think they might have recorded it directly to tape. Plus, my copies have a unique color variant that I haven't seen before (sides A/B are purple, and sides C/D are navy blue).
Echoing what others have said, this Big Thief record showcases a mix of sound qualities, probably because they recorded it in various spots. I'm all for it, as it turns the double album into an adventure through Big Thief's music. The vibes here are even more diverse than on their other records. It's a truly enjoyable listen, start to finish.
I'm blown away by how incredible this sounds. I previously had the eco wax version, which is alright, but the reviews here convinced me to give this a try (I'm a huge fan of this album and want to experience it in the highest quality possible). I was doubtful, I couldn't see how this could sound any better. But it genuinely does. This is the best I've ever heard the album on any format. If you can find a copy, grab it!
From now on, I'll definitely be checking these reviews more carefully before buying anything new. I'm really let down by the sound quality of this release. The CD quality digital version on Tidal is so much more lively and engaging on my system, which is odd because my digital gear is the less impressive part. This vinyl pressing just sounds squashed and dull. I'm all for supporting the band, but I really wish they'd given this the mastering it needed.
