Product description

"Douze préludes" is a captivating collection of six preludes composed by Manfred Trojahn, released in 2015 under the Green Entertainment label. This album, spanning 34 minutes, offers a rich and nuanced exploration of modern classical music, with each prelude presenting a unique atmosphere and musical narrative.

Composed between 2006 and 2007, these preludes showcase Trojahn's mastery of melody and texture, evoking a sense of introspection and subtlety reminiscent of Franz Liszt's late piano works. The album begins with "Prélude No. 1, Déjà là, printanier crépuscule," setting a contemplative tone that carries through the subsequent pieces. Each prelude is distinct, yet they flow seamlessly together, creating a cohesive and immersive listening experience.

Pianist Hanni Liang's performance brings Trojahn's compositions to life with precision and sensitivity, highlighting the intricate details and expressive depth of each piece. From the haunting beauty of "Montagne déchirée" to the dreamlike quality of "Rêverie (Nu au jardin)," Liang's interpretation adds a layer of intimacy and personal connection to the music.

Born in 1949, Manfred Trojahn studied orchestral music and composition in Germany, refining his craft under notable mentors such as Karlheinz Zöller and Diether de la Motte. His background in both performance and composition is evident in the sophistication and artistry of "Douze préludes," making this album a significant addition to the modern classical repertoire.
