Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music with Antal Doráti's latest release, "Doráti: Symphony; Nocturne and Capriccio; Interview with Doráti." This album, released on June 23, 2023, under Universal Music Australia Pty. Ltd., is a masterful compilation of Antal Doráti's stereo recordings with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. Spanning a concise yet impactful 59 minutes, the album is a testament to Doráti's enduring legacy in the world of classical music.

The album kicks off with the grand Symphony No. 1, a five-movement opus that showcases Doráti's compositional prowess. From the lively "Vivace con brio" to the soothing "Notturno. Adagio," each movement is a journey through a spectrum of emotions and musical brilliance. The album also features the enchanting "Nocturne and Capriccio for Oboe and String Quartet," adding a touch of delicate sophistication to the collection.

A unique gem in this album is the interview with Antal Doráti himself, conducted by Dennis D. Rooney. This intimate conversation offers listeners a glimpse into the mind of the maestro, providing context and depth to the musical pieces.

Doráti's work with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra is renowned for its precision and emotional resonance. This album is no exception, as it captures the essence of a golden era in American orchestral performance. Whether you're a seasoned classical aficionado or a newcomer to the genre, this album is a must-listen for anyone appreciating the rich tapestry of classical music.
