About Mike Auldridge

Mike Auldridge, a trailblazer in bluegrass and newgrass music, was a master of the Dobro, renowned for his distinctive style and innovative techniques. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1938, Auldridge co-founded the influential bluegrass group The Seldom Scene, helping to expand the genre's appeal to urban audiences. Throughout his multi-decade career, he earned widespread acclaim, including induction into the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Hall of Fame. Auldridge's skill and creativity on the Dobro made him one of the most respected and celebrated musicians in country and bluegrass music, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire new generations of players.
