Product description

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Akira Eguchi's "Dear America," a classical album released in 2002 under the NYS Classics label. This 57-minute journey through chamber music and classical genres showcases Eguchi's virtuosity and deep connection with the works of George Gershwin.

The album opens with the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue," a piece that has become synonymous with American musical heritage. Eguchi's interpretation is followed by a rendition of "Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair," a sentimental melody that highlights his expressive playing. The centerpiece of the album is the "Fantasy on Porgy and Bess" for two pianos, a suite that Eguchi performs with sensitivity and nuance, bringing Gershwin's operatic masterpiece to life in a unique and engaging way.

Eguchi's extensive touring history across the United States and Europe brings an international perspective to his performances, enriching his interpretations of these beloved pieces. His collaboration with other renowned musicians, such as violinist Gil Shaham, further attests to his standing in the classical music world.

"Dear America" is not just a collection of songs but a testament to Akira Eguchi's artistry and his ability to breathe new life into timeless compositions. Whether you're a longtime fan of Gershwin's music or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a fresh and compelling listening experience.
