Product description

Dive into the captivating world of Anton Rubinstein with the "Classical Selection - Rubinstein: Piano Concerto No. 4" album, released on February 29, 2016, under the perpetuo CLASSICS label. This 47-minute collection is a testament to Rubinstein's mastery of the piano, blending classical elegance with the rhythmic allure of tango.

The album opens with the powerful Piano Concerto No. 4 in D Minor, Op. 70, showcasing Rubinstein's dynamic range and technical prowess. The concerto's three movements, from the intense Moderato assai to the lively Allegro, offer a thrilling journey through the composer's emotional landscape.

Beyond the concerto, the album presents a variety of Rubinstein's works, each piece revealing a different facet of his musical genius. The Deux mélodies pour le piano in F Major, Op. 3, and the 6 Soirées à Saint-Petersbourg, Op. 44, No. 1 in E-Flat Major, Romance, provide moments of lyrical beauty and introspection. The 7 National Dances, Op. 82, No. 7 in G Major, Polka, and the 6 Etudes, Op. 23, No. 2 in C Major "Staccato Etude," demonstrate Rubinstein's ability to infuse traditional forms with his unique creative vision.

Kamenniy-Ostrov, Op. 10: No. 22, Andante moderato, adds a touch of nostalgia, evoking the charm of Saint Petersburg, where Rubinstein spent a significant part of his life.

Whether you're a longtime admirer of Rubinstein or a newcomer to his music, this album offers a compelling introduction to his artistry. The blend of well-known pieces and lesser-known gems makes it a rewarding listen for any classical music enthusiast.
