Wim Van Hasselt is a Belgian trumpet virtuoso who has captivated audiences worldwide with his extraordinary musical prowess. Born in Turnhout, Belgium in 1977, Van Hasselt has made Switzerland his home and has become a prominent figure in the classical music scene. His career is marked by impressive collaborations, including performances with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta and prestigious orchestras such as the Concertgebouworkest and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. Van Hasselt's discography is diverse, featuring works that blend traditional and contemporary elements, as seen in his album "Imaginary Mirror: A New Reality for Trumpet, Percussion & Unexpected Electronics." Beyond his solo work, he is also a sought-after chamber musician and a dedicated educator, recently appointed as a professor of trumpet at the University of Music in Freiburg, Germany. Van Hasselt's ability to seamlessly navigate between classical and pop/rock genres makes him a unique and exciting artist to follow.
