About Ferdinando Carulli

Ferdinando Carulli, born in Naples in 1770, is celebrated as a founding father of the classical guitar tradition. Originally a cellist, Carulli transitioned to the guitar and became an extraordinarily prolific composer, penning over 400 works for the instrument. His influence is immeasurable, with his Méthode complète pour guitare ou lyre, op. 27 (1810) still serving as a cornerstone in the education of guitarists today.
