  • DMM Version Blows Away MoFi

    5 out of 5 stars
    bipqpheeMay 22, 2025United States🇺🇸

Unbelievable! I own the MoFi 24kt gold SACD (which sounds really nice) but this DMM version absolutely blows it away. Huge, deep 3D soundstage with pounding bass and drums, perfectly balanced mix. Tight sound. [Tech specs in my profile].

  • Hiatt's Legendary Roots Revival

    5 out of 5 stars
    Wiriom719March 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

John Hiatt experienced an astonishing career revival that kicked off with this legendary 1987 album. Potentially the top 'roots' record of the '80s, 'Bring The Family' solidified his status as one of America's greatest singer-songwriters, possibly of all time. The musicianship here is outstanding, featuring that phenomenal rhythm duo of industry icons Nick Lowe and Jim Keltner, plus special guest slide guitar virtuoso Ry Cooder! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, just like all of Hiatt's work from this point up to 1995's 'Walk On'. Fingers crossed he's inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame if he ain't already...

  • Heartbreaking Tracks, Stellar Band

    5 out of 5 stars

Some tracks on this album will truly break your heart. Fantastic backing band with Nick Lowe, Jim Keltner & Ry Cooder.

  • Hiatt's 80s Blues Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    racvhnqcbaeSeptember 22, 2024United States🇺🇸

To start off, this could very well be the top American blues record from the 80s. As for the sound, it's a bit of a mixed bag with this DMM mastering. My NM- copy is nearly free of surface noise, but Mr. Hiatt's voice comes across a tad thin and muffled. Plus, it's lacking that deep bass punch I'm after. Yet, I'd still strongly suggest giving it a listen! P.S. Unlike the other first pressings from '87, the club edition isn't see-through.

  • Ry Cooder's Album Shines

    5 out of 5 stars
    Seta.qauriJune 10, 2024United States🇺🇸

Wow, this album is absolutely fantastic! Having Ry Cooder, Jim Keltner, and Nick Lowe as the backing band is just incredible! The recording quality is superb, and this copy sounds rich and detailed.
