Holy cow, we're on a divine mission! I'd forgotten what a pristine and clean piece of vinyl this is... not a single skip. It needed a swift clean but wow! The 1978 Specialty Pressing still outshines most of my new vinyl. Plus, one of the most entertaining blues albums out there. A fantastic lineup of incredible musicians. Most of them appeared in the film too, though Paul Shaffer was only part of this very LP. Rubbbbbbbbbbaaaa Biscuit!
The Blues Brothers sure do have that soulful thing goin' on. Their band's packed with some of the best blues musicians around, and they always nail it. Thrilled to have this album in my collection. My copy sounds great. Just a tiny bit of tracking issues on the last track of side A, but it's all good. Highly recommend it!
Awesome album. The loud pressing is really strong. The balance and sound are top-notch.
Back in my childhood days, this was one of my all-time favorite albums. We'd have it on a cassette tape and the whole family would jam out to it during our long drives.
This album is a heartfelt, energetic homage to rhythm & blues, and it's an absolute blast to listen to. Aykroyd shines on "Rubber Biscuit", Belushi delivers his vocals with genuine emotion, but the real magic lies in the band...they're a fantastic group of music legends, and you can hear how much they're enjoying themselves. "Shot Gun Blues" is pretty much the only track that doesn't quite hit the mark. The sound quality of this record is solid, with a clear, punchy audio profile, though it might benefit from a tad more depth in the bass. The vinyl itself is in excellent condition, with just a few moments of light surface noise at the start of each side.
