Product description

Experience the electrifying live performance of Arthur Rubinstein, one of the greatest pianists of all time, in this captivating album featuring Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-Flat Major, Op. 83, recorded live in Zurich in 1966. This album is a testament to Rubinstein's extraordinary talent and his love for live performances, which often exude more energy and spontaneity than his studio recordings.

The album opens with the first movement of the concerto, "Allegro non troppo," followed by the passionate "Allegro appassionato," the serene "Andante," and the lively "Allegretto grazioso." Each movement is performed with Rubinstein's signature eloquence and technical brilliance, making this a truly unforgettable listening experience.

In addition to the concerto, the album also features a selection of shorter pieces, including Brahms' "2 Rhapsodies, Op. 79: No. 1 in B Minor," "8 Klavierstücke, Op. 76: No. 2. Capriccio in B Minor," and Chopin's "Nocturne No. 8 in D-Flat Major, Op. 27, No. 2" and "Waltz No. 7 in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 64, No. 2." The album concludes with a captivating performance of Manuel de Falla's "El amor brujo: Danse rituelle de feu (Piano Version)."

With a total duration of 1 hour and 13 minutes, this album is a must-listen for classical music enthusiasts and anyone who appreciates the artistry of Arthur Rubinstein. The sound quality is excellent, and the performances are sure to leave you in awe of Rubinstein's extraordinary talent. Don't miss out on this opportunity to witness one of the greatest pianists of all time in action.
