My record is peaceful, balanced, and has stunning sound quality. The vinyl pressing keeps the original recording's true essence, with barely any surface noise and a perfectly centered disc for smooth playback. Absolutely recommend!
AS has done it once more. They've put out an incredible RE release with a perfectly flat pressing. The audio quality is phenomenal, no hiss in the background, with excellent separation and a stunning soundstage. Highly recommended!
Incredible! Jug's performance here is nothing short of masterful, and it's no surprise this album is ranked among the greatest jazz records ever made. The Acoustic Sounds version is absolutely stunning, showcasing exactly why we're drawn to and willing to invest in the hassle and expense of vinyl. Music, as we know, is inherently analog, and this pressing exudes that analog essence from start to finish. The soundstage's depth and width are unparalleled, even surpassing HiRes streaming with top-tier streamers from the best services (like Qobuz). The percussion is impeccably positioned, highlighting Mr. Ammons who shines above and beyond the accompaniment with his heartfelt expression and dazzling improvisation. If you have any audiophile ambitions, even if they're modest (like mine), grab this. My setup includes a Rega P6 turntable, Dynavector 10x5 cartridge & P75 Mk IV phono stage, and a Parasound Halo HINT 6 integrated amp driving ATC SCM11s.
Absolutely fantastic sound quality - and the music is top-notch as well. A total no-brainer, definitely worth every penny.
This is an absolute work of art! It's such a wonderful treat for my spirit! If you've got a half-decent stereo setup, this album will set the standard for what it can do. 10/10 for the songs, the playing, and the overall production!
