Product description

Jon Batiste, the five-time Grammy® and Oscar® winner, invites you into a world where classical elegance meets the soulful spontaneity of jazz and blues. "Beethoven Blues," the inaugural volume of the Batiste Piano Series, is a captivating reimagining of Beethoven's timeless compositions, filtered through the distinctive lens of Batiste's virtuoso pianism. Released on November 15, 2024, under the Beethoven Blues label, this pure piano album spans 50 minutes of enchanting melodies and innovative interpretations.

From the hauntingly beautiful "Für Elise" to the exhilarating "Symphony No. 5 Stomp," Batiste masterfully blends classical structures with improvisational flair, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new. Tracks like "Moonlight Sonata Blues" and "Waldstein Wobble" showcase his ability to infuse traditional pieces with a contemporary, bluesy groove, while "Life Of Ludwig" offers a poignant tribute to the legendary composer.

Recorded in 2024, this 11-track album is a testament to Batiste's extraordinary talent and his deep reverence for Beethoven's music. Whether you're a classical aficionado or a jazz enthusiast, "Beethoven Blues" promises a rich and rewarding listening experience, highlighting Jon Batiste's unparalleled artistry and his unique ability to bridge musical genres.

This 2024 Limited Edition LP is pressed on Black vinyl.

This pressing is an absolute disgrace. From the moment the needle drops, you're greeted not with the rich, dynamic sound Batiste’s music deserves, but with noise, pops, and a brickwalled mess that flattens every ounce of life from the recording. The mastering is an afterthought, the soundstage is nonexistent, and any sense of warmth or depth is buried under a layer of sonic sludge. There’s no air, no separation—just a dull, suffocated mix that robs the music of its vibrancy. Batiste deserves better, we all deserve better. Other than that, the MUSIC is amazing.
