Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of Szymon Goldberg's "Bach & Haydn: Concertos pour violon," a 1953 masterpiece that brings together two of classical music's most revered composers. This album, released under the BNF Collection label, showcases Goldberg's extraordinary virtuosity as a violinist, accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of Walter Süsskind.

The album features two iconic violin concertos: Bach's Violin Concerto in E Major, BWV 1042, and Haydn's Violin Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Hob. VIIa:1. Goldberg's performance is a testament to his deep understanding and profound respect for the music, delivering a rendition that is both technically brilliant and emotionally resonant. The concertos are presented in their entirety, allowing listeners to appreciate the full scope of these works, from the lively allegros to the serene adagios.

Szymon Goldberg, born in Poland and later naturalized in the United States, was renowned for his precise and expressive playing. His collaboration with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Walter Süsskind results in a recording that is both historically significant and aesthetically pleasing. The album's chamber music genre is captured in 41 minutes of pure musical excellence, making it a cherished addition to any classical music collection.

Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a rich and rewarding listening experience. Goldberg's interpretation of Bach and Haydn's concertos is a celebration of the violin's versatility and the composers' enduring genius.
