Without a doubt, Dave Brubeck's finest live performance and an absolutely magnificent album that belongs in any respectable collection! The CD recording is EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD, with excellent dynamics. INTERESTING detail: the original LP cut the finale of Castillian Drums short by one beat. Fortunately, this "missing beat" has been fixed in the latest CD re-release. Hopefully, they'll do the same for future vinyl editions?
I managed to find a decent second-hand version of this album. The audio quality is superb and the performance is top-notch.
Incredible live performance by the Brubeck quartet captured on this CD. The sound quality is top-notch. Instruments are well-separated. You can clearly hear Morello's drums and Desmond's tenor sax, each with excellent clarity. It's wonderful to notice how the band grows throughout the recording, eventually meshing perfectly with their enthusiastic audience. Morello's drum solos are truly outstanding, and Brubeck's leadership is nothing short of brilliant.
