Product description

Immerse yourself in the rich, Romantic soundscapes of Anton Arensky's Piano Trios Nos. 1 & 2, performed exquisitely by the Rachmaninov Trio Moscow. Released on Tudor in 2010, this chamber music album is a testament to Arensky's compositional prowess and the trio's masterful interpretation.

The album opens with the Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor, Op. 32, a four-movement work that showcases Arensky's lyrical melodies and intricate harmonies. The first movement, "Allegro moderato - Adagio," sets a contemplative tone, while the "Scherzo. Allegro molto" injects a sense of playfulness. The "Elegia: Adagio" offers a poignant interlude, and the "Finale. Allegro non troppo" brings the trio to a thrilling close.

The second half of the album features the Piano Trio No. 2 in F Minor, Op. 73. This four-movement work is marked by its romanticism and technical demands. The "Allegro moderato" opens with a sense of urgency, followed by the tender "Romance. Andante." The "Scherzo. Presto" is a whirlwind of energy, and the "Tema con variazioni" concludes the trio with a set of variations that highlight the trio's virtuosity.

With a total runtime of 58 minutes, this album is a comprehensive exploration of Arensky's piano trio repertoire. Whether you're a seasoned chamber music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a captivating journey through the Romantic era's rich musical landscape.
